HDTV  (High Definition)

    The much anticipated wait for more High Definition programming is finally over.  Along with our free broadcast station HD channels (FOX HD-Salina, KOOD HD-Bunker Hill, KBSH HD -Hays/Wichita & KHGI HD - Kearney) we have a HD Basic package to offer.  The HD Expanded Basic lineup is listed below and is included when you subscribe to our HD/DVR service at $17.95/month.     High-definition television (HDTV) is a digital television broadcasting system with a significantly higher resolution than traditional formats. In 2007, already 24 million US households have HDTV's. However, only half are set up to actually receive HDTV programming as some consumers are not aware that they must get special receivers to get HDTV from cable, or use HDTV tuners to receive over-the-air broadcasts, and some are planning to use it in the future.  For more details about HD TV in general click here!
     To receive HD programming, whether from your cable provider or satellite, you will need to subscribe to a HD package and need a HD-capable digital converter box.   The one exception is at Cunningham Communications, we flow the HD broadcast stations that are available over our cable TV systems.  Today there are three (PBS HD-Bunker Hill, CBS HD-Kearney and Fox HD-Salina). With a little setup, our customers with HDTV’s can use their HDTV’s internal digital QAM tuner to view these free broadcast channels.
      If you want more HD programming and features, our Expanded HD package contains a wide variety of family content, sports and movies and also contains the HD broadcast stations.  The Expanded HD lineup below is included with the subscription to an HD/DVR digital converter boxes also have built-in Digital Video Recorders so you can pause and rewind live TV, record all your favorite programming for later viewing and even record 2 shows at once!  Plus, with our HD/DVR digital converter box you may only need a single cable to connect to your HDTV making it the simplest, easiest way to get all our HD programming. Also available is our HD Tier and Movie Channels in HD.  Our HD Tier is $9.95 a month. The movie channels are available in HD when you have subscripted to the corresponding premium plex. For example, when you subscribe to HBO premium plex and you also have an HD/DVR subscription you will have HBO HD available to watch.
